Although I have a nice midi lathe, I don't presently have room to have it set up. So, I recently picked up a used PSI PenPal lathe to get back into turning small stuff. I also bought a new Beall Treen setup as well as a collet chuck with the 3/4-16 threads. It turns out that with a light touch, I can turn at least up to 2" square stock on the little lathe, but the collet chuck as an adapter takes up a tremendous amount of horizontal space.

I reached out to Rick early last week about a possible adapter, had a back and forth discussion with my ideas for one, using 5/8" drill rod of desired lengths to connect the two. Rick drew up a basic diagram, made it and put it in the mail the next day, and I received on Friday. It's very well made, fits both the lathe threads and drill rod perfectly. This adapter increases the length of possible projects from around 4" with the collet chuck to somewhere in the 9-10" range if so desired.
