Alex has been taught well! I like that he knows the proper procedure when planning a board starts with jointing the face of the board!

Seems like a great kid! I wish him much success!

I enjoyed watching that. Thank you.

That kid is going places. Started his own business at 11. I looked at his site, and many of his pens are already sold, and they are quite nice.

I also notice that this video was posted in 2009, so he's what, 16, maybe 17?

And he want's to be a doctor.

I wish him all the best.

I watched this video quite awhile ago my first impression was someone dabbled in marketing. The buy a pen to help me with my college fund angle is fine.. However, it might go over better if he was not working with high end equipment in pristine shop.

His workmanship is very good, no doubt about that he's creating some great looking pens. I'm always happy to see someone younger working with their hands instead of texting away.

I don't understand why it is a problem that he has good equipment and that he keeps the place clean. I have been following him for the last few years and had never seen the video before. He has advanced to making very nice pens and I do admire his drive. It is nice that his family supports his efforts and he has a goal in mind.

I have a 3/8" blade on my band saw and now I see that a 1/2" would be better for segmenting. The kid has taught me something. He even holds a pen fairly correct when writing.

Alex is in the Raleigh area and is a talented individual. He's seems to be getting the college fund built up pretty well based upon his web site.
