I had to repost due to the fact that I was unclear on my intentions on the last post. I got the chance to help out a missionary who goes to Romania and teaches kids how to make pens in hopes they can sell them to go to camp. He told me how he had a need for another lathe since he has only one. I thought why not see if I can do something about it. So I thought I might branch out to y'all and see what you thought.

Lately I have become very weary of "missionaries" and their wants. The whole fool me once shame on you scenario. I cannot imagine it would be worth it for a missionary to ship a lathe to Romania. Would it not be better for him raise some cash and purchase it there, and leave it to be used in his absence?

As an explanation for my attitude-Our business donated parts to help fix a "missionary's" boat. The guy had pictures of him taking groups of kids on the lake to fish and camp etc. Everything seemed legit. He fixed his boat, sold his boat, and skipped town. It was quite a bit of money in parts that allowed him to skip town. Needless to say we take missionaries with a grain of salt.

This missionary is legit. Several of my family members have done trips with him. I was thinking of having some sort of fund raiser to sen the money their or have him use it here due to the lack o good machines in Romania.
