Ceres Jr. Pen Kit from Rockler

I noticed that Rockler has some new pen kits. They came out with a Ceres Jr ballpoint and rollerball. http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=32651&site=ROCKLER

Does anyone know if this is just a renamed kit that's already out there that I can get cheaper from another vender and in different platings?

I've never seen it anywhere else. I like the clip but find the colors in it odd. I wonder I they'll wear off?

Looks like a standard Jr. series with colors added. The drill bits equate to 10.3mm (13/32) and 12.3mm (31/64) which are close to Jr. Gents sold by others (10.5mm/12.5mm).

looks new to me too. Im also not a fan of the color rings. While patriotic, i too, worry about their durability

Rockler used to buy kits from Berea, and maybe some others. They now are having most, if not all, of their kits made in China.

Looks like the Duke, from Lau Lau Woodworks in Hawaii. He's had them for a while, but without the colored rings.

It sure does look like the Dayacom kit referred to above. My $.02 is that Rockler has no kit that is really unique. The same kit, under another name, are available from our own IAP vendors at a better price: ExoticBlanks, Smittyspenworks, Classic Nib, BearToothwoods to name a few.

It sure does look like the Dayacom kit referred to above. My $.02 is that Rockler has no kit that is really unique. The same kit, under another name, are available from our own IAP vendors at a better price: ExoticBlanks, Smittyspenworks, Classic Nib, BearToothwoods to name a few.

The clip is the same as on the Duke by LauLau Woodworks .

Yeah, i saw that the other week. Thought it was a neat concept, but also thought it would have been better if they let you choose the colors on the rings. or maybe buy a bag of interchangable ones.
