I've been talking to a guy who is willing to try coating pen parts with Cerakote. The price is a bit high, but the durability is huge.

It's 0.001" thick, so should be easy to account for when making the pens.

Anybody done any digging on this before I spend any $$ on the idea?

As I understand it, Cerakoat is harder, but Duracoat is more flexible. I've started duracoating cartridges as an alternative to powdercoat. It keeps the colors better and (although expensive) is quite durable.
