Here are a few photos of our meeting. This is the group, less me.

Monty gave a casting demo. He needed a bigger hammer for the mold release phase.

Seamus gave a demo on cutting his quarters. We had a definite appreciation for the work that goes into these.

And Keith "mrburl" along with others gave plenty of reason to purchase new turning stock.

Results from the stabilizing demo.

This is one of the blanks that Monty did during the demo. It turned very easy. Thanks agian for the demo!

I noticed that none of the old croud were around, ll new faces except Seamus and Keith. I guess we were not invited. Oh well, I think we don't get the emails.

Sorry, but I don't understand where you get the idea that the "old crowd" wasn't invited. If you look through this email, I said that anyone could attend, a number of times.

Where does it say someone has to be sent a personal invitation? I personally don't have time for that, although this new "zip-it" idea may make it easier.

I think you need to get past this.

BTW...

I plan on hosting another gathering sometime. It would be great if someone wants to do something somewhere else. It would mean more meeting times.

Hmmmm....
Northern Colorado is talking about seceding and becoming the 51st state. Maybe northern central Texas should splinter out.

Phillip,
Sorry you missed the meeting. We discussed the Belton meeting at our June Alamo Penturners meeting. Can't remember if you were there or not.
Anyway, there was a large discussion and planning thread here on IAP prior to the time of the get together. That IAP thread is how I found about the meeting which I am sorry I missed. Rick put a lot into getting the group together.
I wanted to go, but we had a turning class in San Antonio that same weekend for segmented bowl turning that I was responsible for.
Will try to keep you posted in the future.
gordon
