Hello friends !
I tried a new material (to me) this week and had fun making a couple of pens. Once I came to terms with "go slow and easy..this melts fast" I moved along fine with the material.
The first is all cellulose acetate, the cap, section and body. The second has a black ebonite cap with everything else being cellulose acetate, I had to fit some ebonite in here somewhere
I used M14 x 1.0 single start tap & die for both caps and bodies, M10 x 1.0 for the sections.
Both are roughly 15mm width bodies (a wee less actually) and 16.75mm caps.
Both are around 149mm in length when closed/capped.
Both have Jowo #6 nibs.
These were fun to make and really easy to thread, just go slow and take your time doing so and adhere to wall thickness ratios, too thin and it crumbles. Sharp tools are a definite must. Sanding is weird, compared to other materials, it clogs the sandpaper super fast and yet seems as if very little is removed even though you are progessing along.
Thanks for looking. Any comments good or bad are always welcomed.
