A few weeks ago, I asked for ideas on how to make a pitcher. Here is what I ended up doing.
First I turned the outside shape leaving extra material about 5/8" below the rim and hollowed the piece.

I then used a round rasp to make he center line for the spout. Then I carved the notch.

After carving the notch I used my drill and a sanding disk to remove the thicker wood up to the rim leaving the wider area around the spout. Sanded and finished. I then raided my wife's sewing box and stole a piece of trim that I glued to my pitcher. I then stiffened and shaped the trim with CA glue. This was a real learning experience. My next one will be bigger and better, I hope.
