Dear all,

I have a lot of 49 rods of 14" Cebloplast (please see photos attached). Would you be able to give me an indication as to how they should be priced?

Thanks,
Ginie

Don't know value, but interested in a few. I did find that they are susceptible to heat and are delicate.

As Fred pointed out, the diameter is important, but if it's in the 17mm-18mm range I'd consider $15 to $20 for a 14" rod a reasonable asking price. Smaller diameters typically attract fewer interested buyers (as well as a lower price), larger than 18mm is mostly wasted so I don't usually consider it worth paying any more for extra material I'm not using.

Like the other posters, I'm interested in buying some when you decide to sell.

I usually think in dollars per inch. Turners Workshop UK, sells Cellulose Acetate (vintage) for about $1 per inch. The also sell Mazzucehelli Ceblox (vintage) for over $5 an inch. I don't mind paying up for vintage plastic, IMO nothing modern really compares. Even at $5 per inch, that would be $25 for a 5 inch pen blank, I have spent more than that on trustone, inlays, pre-tubed etc.

You should sell to us at $1 per inch, and to the rest of the world at $5 ;) Realistically anyone who know what this is, understands it's rarity are going to pay any reasonable price. If you want to see unreasonable prices, look at what bakelite sell for!

Ah ah, thanks for all the answers.
You see, I'm located in the UK...but I started turning when I lived in the US...

I will keep a few for myself (I'm a wood/resin cast person, so whilst I have done and do pens, it is not my main activity) and will take orders from those who have expressed an interest and will also put some lots together as well, so will have those posted under the 'sale' forum with price over the weekend. Very happy to ship to the US, will check the weigh and fee as well.

Thanks!
Ginie

You can put me down for 3 Green rods, 3 brown rods and 10 red rods if you have them. Let me know how much. I live in Italy so hopefully not too many problems shipping here. Let em know and I can PayPal you!

Thanks all for your interest. Being located in the U.K., I have just sold all the rods to Vince at Turners Workshop here listed above, and he has just received them.
They will be available for purchase there, I suspect.

Thanks and happy turning!
