Had a cataract removed from my right eye yesterday.
Wow. On the followup visit 22 hours after surgery, I had 20/25 vision in that eye. Scored 3 out of 5 on the 20/20 line. Doctor says I have a little internal swelling but will continue to improve.
Colors are better. Whites are really bright, not yellow.

Don't put it off, get it done. Didn't use any of the pill meds for pain or sleeping. Did exactly as instructed with the drops and will continue to do so.

Next followup is in 1 week. Still need that up close vision to improve. Didn't opt for the standard lens, but an HD lens that is somewhat adjustable by my eye muscles. Worth the extra cost of that lens.

I may not wait for the other much slower growing cataract to get worse. I may just have it done in a few weeks.

Yea I think I'm getting close...The word cataract came up last year...

I can still read fine print BUT I am seeing shadows around what should be clear crisp black & white lines very annoying. Also I find myself more sensitive to bright light and have a case of snow blindness when coming in from outdoor bright light. Another annoying thing is my eyes get tired more quickly and have a hard time focusing after a shorter time...

From what I heard is that a cataract has to be a certain thickness before they can do surgery...

Glad to hear you had a good experience.
Good Luck...

Charlie, Glad you had a good experience and a great outcome.
I never thought that mine would be as good as they were.
Only hastle I have is at the Mall, the different type of lighting causes me a slight glitch.
Moving from different light sources say, Fluro Lights, to Incadescent,or Halogen, or LED etc, gives me a slight delay in adjusting to the glare, and the slight reflective change of my new "Eyes".
My sunglasses and I are now the best of friends.
Bottom line "I shouldn't have waited as long as I did, should have done it earlier"
To any reader if you are having problems, get it done.
Brian.

Had mine done awhile back. When I did the first one I couldn't believe the difference! So good I wanted to do the other one. My Dr. told me not to try so hard on my next eye exam or the insurance wouldn't pay for it. lol

My Dr. told me that I'll probably need the surgery in about 10 years, he sees just the beginnings of cataracts. It's good to know the surgery isn't that bad.
