I have a large bottle of CA that I apparently bought when my eyes were bigger than my stomach, so to speak.

I know I'm not going to use it before it goes bad, and was wondering if anyone here had ever cast anything using CA. I have some red TransTint dye that might work to color it, as well as a blue Acetone based-dye that I can evaporate off into a concentrate to get some color.

Any suggestions? I don't know what I'm casting with it yet, so this is basically a "play and have fun" thing.

I think it would make a very brittle blank. And I've been told that most dyes will act as a catalyst. But give it a try if you like and give us a report back.

You can extend it's life quite a while by storing the bottle in the refridgerator. I do this and fill 2 oz bottles as I need to. Be sure to let it warm to room temperature before you use it, though. This way it is less likely to go bad and if it does, it's only two ounces and not the whole big bottle. BTW I've had three bottles in the fridge for almost a year and they are as good as the day I bought them.

You can even put it in the freezer with no adverse effects. I do not even wait for it to get warm and have found that straight out of the freezer or fridge it works just as good.
