I have cast some PA resin into the white plastic pipe used to run electric cable. Before i poured the resin into the tube, i rubbed the inside with Vasaline. I hoped that this would help with getting the blank out when cured. WRONG. They were that stuck that i had to cut the pipe to get them out.
What did i do wrong. What is the best way to prepare the insides of the tube?. Or is the plastic pipe not suitable. Will copper pipe be better?

I am hit or miss on PVC. From one section of PVC I cut 4 molds. Two of them release with no effort, I can just push the blank out with a bolt. I have made several blanks this way. Two of them have blanks stuck in there for eternity, I will have to turn the PVC to extract the blanks.

I have not used an release agent.

Typically what I do, is only use the PVC molds when I have some left over PR that won't fill my Gadget mold. I use these stubs to make pre rounded PR center bands.
