Casting smaller deer antler?

I have a handful of smaller deer antler as offcuts from the larger, pen-sized parts.

I had an interesting thought, perhaps plopping the antler over in the pvc pipe and casting it in a hunter-friendly color like black or camo-green. I know the antler won't absorb any color or resin, but it might make for a very interesting pen.

Has anyone done this? Does the PR bond well to the antler?

I've done it for things of similar desity, but not antler. It works out okay if you keep your tools sharp and take light cuts. Even then be prepared to CA a piece back in if you can find where it landed. DAMHIKT

Deer antler takes color if you get it into the (morrow) or whatever you call it. carl
