I'm wanting to cast a rose I have from my grandmother's funeral a number of years ago in resin to preserve it. I've thought about casting it in resin and then turn it into a bulb for display. I've also been wanting to experiment with flower casting for a while. Does anyone have any tips, tricks, or suggestions for this endevor?

My experiences with casting flowers has not been a good one, I find the resin I used (Polyester) burned the colours away making everything a medium brown colour.

I have seen flowers cast in crystal clear resin where all the colours look normal, however, I think this is a commercial type product using processes and materials I'm not aware of, one thing I know is required is to dehydrate the flower apart from that, I don't really know, sorry.

Cheers
