I don't have any equipment to cast (or make pens, for that matter - my lathe is backordered:mad:), so I have to look to other people to make my ideas come to fruition... :giggle:
Has anyone ever cast shavings from hand planing a board? At work, we offer hand planing on our table & hutch tops, and the guy that does it makes nice big, long curls of wood. So I was wondering, how they would look if they were cast and cut up into pen blanks? Did anyone ever try this? I would be interested in turning some if someone were to cast them...

i have done chips of the lathe and cast them, i would think if you use plane shaving you have to break them apart into small piece and would look the same
