Still playing with casting stuff in resin. I found an Alder tree in the neighborhood, and the leftover blossom looks like a mini pine cone. They were just laying around the base of the tree. They were quite dry, but I stuck them in the oven anyway, just to be safe. I cast 3 individual blanks just to see what they looked like with red, blue and green. So far, I have only made the blue one, but it looks pretty cool. The cones look like some ancient sea critter.

Kit is a Viceroy from TheWoodTurningStore that I bought probably 5 years ago.

LOVE alder cones. They dry very nicely and always cast perfectly! Buying them is actually pretty expensive because apparently they are used in fish tanks for shrimp. We have them EVERYWHERE up here in the PNW.
