Cast Fordite - Carpenter's pencil

I was at the Commonwealth Pen Show last month helping a friend at his table, and he gave me a corner to put out some of my own pieces. One visitor took a liking to the Fordite stuff, and I showed her an un-turned blank so she could see how it started. One thing led to another and her boyfriend commissioned a carpenter's pencil out of the blank she'd seen. I mailed it to her yesterday.

Thanks! I'm not sure that she's in the trades; all I remember is she likes a 2mm lead because they don't break as often as the 0.5mm and 0.7mm ones.

I love the look. My only issue with this kit is I have lost tops in the field when I use it. Any suggestions for securing

Do you mean the button to advance the lead? I'm not sure, but I think if you give a little squeeze to the tube it fits into, that might make it oval instead of circular which could improve the grip. Just a smidge, mind, or it won't fit on there at all.
