Now if canada could just pull of something in the luge you could all celebrate hockalugi instead of plain old hockey (whatever that is??? I gather it has something to do with that hard white stuff that covers all the water that could otherwise be use for real sports). :biggrin:

Work, what's that? Actually we watched the game 'live' at work. Hooked up a tv monitor and put work on hold. Gotta get your priorities in order. Hockey trumps all. Lol
 
Well since my parents both immigrated from Sweden and my in laws from Finland guess I will be rooting for the Scandinavian side in this game. Now will you please come and take the Biebs back we have enough of our own and this side of the border. Good going Canada you rock.

Go Sweden! (as long as they're not playing Canada)....same with Finland - big fan of Teemu, as a former Jets fan! :smile:
 
Here is how hockey works in Canada.
On your 5th birthday you are required to pick the team you will be "your" team for the rest of your life. Unless one of your ancestors picked the Montreal Canadians. Then you are required to be a Montreal fan as well as your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. The only way out is to have no children of your own and adopt. Then when they tell someone that they are a Calgary flames fan you can say, "They're adopted."
When your team is eliminated from the playoffs you blame it on bad coaching or the general manager and now cheer for the team that eliminated your team. That way you can say your team is the second best in the league because they were eliminated by the team that won the Stanley cup. If or when there is only one team from Canada in the playoffs and the rest are US teams then you root for the team from Canada no matter who they are. This includes Montreal fans as well. If the tragedy occurs that all Canadian teams are eliminated from the playoffs, also referred to as one of the signs of the pending apocalypse them the playoffs are over.

Seriously though, I don't watch hockey or football(either one)....I like to watch hotsaws/bikesaws ripping wood! Skiing and skating are also overrated...don't even get me started about sliding down a hill in a sled with a bunch of other guys in tights!!!
