I know why Ron did it. He wants to be able to check to see if the nib is still there without removing the cap.
My second guess is that you can hold it up in the wind and it whistles dixie.

This is a concept pen that I am working on. I have "one of those ideas" that starts with this pen.
I realized a better way to accomplish it after it was completed so the next one will have a cap just as strong as any other of it's type.[

Wow, neat Ron.. Based on the bottom picture it ooks as though the top portion does not have a brass tube. Is this correct or is the wood reflected off the inside? Nice job either way..

I like it, I can't tell I'de make one but defenetely it is a nice pen and the begining of something that you never know where is going to lead you. Creative thinking.
