Found this on the side of the road in South Texas. Took it home, baked it, stabilized it, cast it resin, and turned it. It might be a bit over the top as a whole, but I like it.

Yes, beautiful! I would add it is an elegant pen. Nice use of the wood. What is it?
I have absolutely no idea. I found it in a ditch after the state road crew came by with a bush hog and cleaned out the median. I just thought it looked cool, so I said...maybe I could turn that.

I wholeheartedly disagree with your "a bit over the top" statement. Don't sell yourself short, that's an excellent blank and a nice match with the kit. You've done a great job IMO.
