Ouch. That will slow down your work a bit. So I'm guessing that your wife was extra compassionate and concerned for your well-being since you were injured on the job...

I feel for you. I took a hunk of hide off one of my fingers on the sander yesterday. Not nearly as bad as yours, but still painful. Heal quickly, and I'll hoist one for you.

Monty,
That gives me the willies  almost as much as the snake on my thermometer.... knock on green wood the only cut I've suffered in my shop is a knuckle that got sliced by the edge of a bowl that I had just cored.... no stitches needed... just a bandaid and a little CA...

BTW, I need to order some glue... can you still pack boxes?:biggrin::biggrin:

Apparently alot better than yours, my friend! But I don't usually do much shop work on Sundays. Every time I get to thinking that I want a miter saw, I'm reminded that they are the most dangerous tool in the shop. And why I make table saw sleds and jigs that allow me do the things the miter saw is good at. Just don't do anything that will get it infected and you'll be back to woodworking soon enough. And a nice glass of wine sounds like just the ticket right now. Cheers!

Sorry about your accident. Many years ago I was going to instantly pull the small scrap away from the table saw blade to prevent it beng thrown.Blade bound up.Blade diagonally cuts through the second bone, pointing finger, right hand.Thankfully not all the flesh.I was near the university medical hospital. Doctors gathered the fragments, rebuilt it.I hope your pain is already stopped and you heal very quickly.

I can still pack boxes, just a little slower, the thumb gets in the way.

And not just the big ones either. This is the saw that was the culprit.

I feel your pain! Cut the tip of my thumb off a couple of years ago on the table saw.
Hint: When you get the first inkling that it might be time to get the push stick, IT IS.
Wine is a good thing after such an injury.
