Looking for suggestions or tips. I've typically doing CA finishes and happy with the results. However, I'm currently doing a few pens with gold foil dry transfer decals (DecalPro FX). In a trial it appears that CA is interacting with the foil and partially dissolving the decal.
A quick test of the foil with a water based poly topped with CA seems as if it may work as I had no CA foil interactions.
On the current pen set, I "sealed" the gold foil dry transfer with a couple coats of the wipe on polycrylic and was very impressed with how it looked. I'm assuming the poly could be sanded/micro meshed/polished like CA.
So my question is, just add more coats of wipe on poly and sand/polish OR with the decal sealed apply a normal CS finish over the poly?
