Hello fellow pen turners.

This is my first post here, even if I have been reading this forum for a while, and found a lot of inspiration, tips and ideas.

Now, I have a quetion. I am making a special pen, where I use some copper details. I tried to finsih the pen with CA, but that didnt work very well, the CA was easy to pick off.

I have now spray painted it with clear acrylic paint, but the feel of the paint is not as smooth and nice as it is with CA. So my idea was to finsih it off with CA over the acrylic paint.

Is this possible, or will there be a chemical reaction too it ?

Hope someone can help !

I think there will be a reaction but the only way to know for sure is to try it. Perhaps if the paint was allowed to cure for a week or so but I have my doubts.

If the CA doesn't stick, you can likely sand and finish the clear acrylic paint. The paint will need to cure first. It may not be as tough a finish, but you can get it smooth. Then treat it like the paint on your car. Polish and wax it. Good Luck..
