Hey Guys,

Recently, I have found my success with CA finishes. Just one question though. How do you guys/gals keep the little pieces of paper towel out of the glue when it is curing? I get a great shine then notice there is just enough tiny bits of paper towel to annoy me! Please help!

+1. get the towel away before the CA starts setting.

That is honestly my biggest problem !! I really struggle to 'leave well enough alone' and take my hand away in time. I often get blanks that look like well wrapped mummies!!!

The use of BLO to lubricate and accelerate will stop paper towel sticking to the blank. I apply the CA from the towel to the blank in a swipe or two and immediately put the BLO right on the towel where the CA was. I then begin to move the towel quickly back and forth as I kick the lathe speed up usually to about 1,800 RPM. The paper towel is moved quickly back and forth often with a good bit of pressure. I never get paper sticking to the blank. The CA is smooth as a baby's butt.
