CA/BLO Time between Coats

Yet another CA/BLO question....I have a Koa blank that ended up "ghosting" a bit, and I've come to learn that the BLO most likely did not dry completely between coats....What kind of time is recommended? On Russ Fairfield's tutorial, it doesn't appear he is waiting too long. Thanks and have a wonderful Memorial Day!

And I don't wait long either...one coat after the other as quickly as I can apply them....four coats. As for "ghosting", I don't believe in them. [B)] I just don't have that problem very often. The finish is so quick to apply, if I don't get what I want after the first couple of coats, I just sand it off and start over. To me, that is better than stewing over what went wrong. I do several coats and if it takes longer that a few minutes I'm taking too long. There are several takes on why the ghosting and they all are probably correct from time to time. I don't think there is one reason for the ghosting or some of the other problems that we run into.

I`m with Don on this one, just sand the bad finish off and start again.

don is the blo/ca zen master, so like mark, i agree with don here. not long at all.

koa has been tricky for me. i've seen the ghosting a little too and i think i found the way to combat it is to have a good sealer coat of thin ca and/or sanding sealer.

Thanks guys.......Going to sand it down and do it again.....There is another funny aspect to this blank....it looks different in different lights. The curliness plays tricks with your eyes. Anyway, thanks.......

Yep, curly anything does that....curly is Gucci....which means really nice. I've not herd that noun used as an adverb prior to this weekend. I must get out more. And, I too agree that a sealer coat of thin CA and sanding dust to make a slurry is what I do on all single wood pens. Thanks for the compliments and confidence in my abilities.
