Bushings

How often do you change out your bushings? I brought home a digital caliper from school and measured the diameter of some of my most used bushings and I couldn't believe how worn they are.

I don't turn down to them very often so they appear to last quite a while. In the beginning I did replace them frequently. Now that I use a caliper and measure more it is less often. I changed them when they got shiny or I could feel an indentation with my finger nail.

Several hundred pens over 5 years and I have never thrown out a bushing.
All my final sizes are verified with a caliper.

Like Brad, I am on my original bushings after about 8 mos but I use a caliper for all measurements. I guess they are more like spacers now.
