Found 3 of these kits in my stash that I must have purchased some time ago. Decided to get rid of them by making some pens. Selected some blanks, glued them up...then crap...the bushings were not anywhere to be found. Checked Woodcraft site, they don't sell this kit any longer. Thought the Flat Top American might be the same kit, but the bushings for that kit don't fit in the tubes.

Anyone got 4 year old bushing laying around that go with this kit? Thanks.

Do you have digital calipers? If so just measure your components and turn your blank to size.

Thanks. Yes...I know I could do that but I hate the tediousness of that process...especially when I'm in production mode. I'll keep working on other stuff for a while longer in hopes that the bushings will materialize, the calipers will come out as a last resort.

check berea thats where they originated

Berea sells the Flat Top American™ series, which is very similar to the kits I have. I think what I have may have been a close clone of Berea's model. I actually have some of the Flat Top American™ kits also, so I was able to compare them. The tubes on the woodcraft kits are slightly smaller in diameter, and some of the parts are a little different. Thanks for the suggestion.

In the bottom of my bushing drawer, I've got a set of bushings in a bag with instructions for Woodcraft's "European Style Pens, Openers, & Magnifying Glasses." They've been there for years. Assuming these are actually the bushings that are in the bad, might these be the ones?

Hey Jerry. They're not what I need but thanks anyway.

Looks like the pen is 77B31 and bushings are 06S89

But I don't have these. A solution is to chuck some corian in your lathe and turn bearings. It appears that all three bushings are identical.

I think that Berea Hardwoods has the kit for this. Look at this kit and see.
The kit number is 4117-F-V-HP.

Thanks George,

It looks very much like the kit I have. I also have some kits called "Flat top American", which I think is the same as the kit you pointed out. The bushings I have for that kit do not fit in the tube of the other three kits ("Screw Cap Fountain Pen") I found in my stash. Very confusing because he kits look almost the same.

That's it! The pen does not appear to be available any longer, but the bushings are. I'll have to see if there's anything else I need from WC to make the shipping more cost effective. Thanks.
