Burmese Blackwood

I received a small block of burmese blackwood from a very generous IAP member yesterday and could not wait to do something with it. The block had a white stripe (sapwood I guess) so I cut a blank to include a white and black section. I used the blank to dress up a platinum navigator.

Burmese Blackwood Cigar Pen

Cody, great job. I have used Blackwood several times, but was never lucky enough to get one with some sapwood area in it. One of my challenges is to photograph it with enough detail to actually see the graining in it, because it was so dark. I attached a pic of my recent Cigar pen using a piece of diagonal-cut Blackwood.
