Anyone ever try to finish the brass with CA or Deft. I got a pen I'm working on for the casing challenge. The brass has some stickers on it, and just wandering what I could seal it with to keep it from coming off. Any suggestions before I waste 10 or 20 shells?

I've used clear lacquer, that is for brass, can't remember the brand, and it didn't hold up real well. When the finish starts to come off it looks bad. If the pen is for show and to protect you stickers you would probably be okay, but if it gets used, not so good. I don't know about CA on it.

If I can make this work, It'll be for show only. CA doesn't work, it screws the sticker up and won't sand. Now onto Laquer, good thing I got spares.

Maybe some clear engine enamel might work. Perhaps if you could apply it and bake it, maybe it'll work. Just a thought.

I use Sherwin Williams laquer thinned 50/50 with thinner and just dip the cartridge. Just make sure that the casing is clean and degreased. It's the same thing as jewelers laquer.
