If any of you have the PSI ultra bright LED flashlight kit, I finally found replacement bulbs. You can get them on amazon

I had an old kit that one of my blind turners made last week, only to discovered there was no bulb in the kit. I tried all over town to find one, and finally found them online. Got them to him in time to give as a Christmas gift.

The kits are no longer available, but if you already have the flashlight, you may need new bulbs someday. (I suspect that is why my last kit was missing its bulb...someone used it to replace a burned out one because they couldn't find a replacement. Probably when a turner came into the shop before the pandemic, complaining about it and one of the volunteers gave them the bulb out of that kit.

Wait. What? A blind turned made a flashlight?

I fell into a rabbit hole almost as deep as lathe turned crafts. Last year I discovered olight. Way too embarrassed to admit how many flashlights I have purchased.

Oh my, there is no saving you now...

My wife doesn't make comments about when I buy wood and other materials for turning, but if I even slow down by a flashlight I get that look. 🤷‍♂️

Christmas present! He is totally blind and has been turning since 2014. He also made a magnifying glass, and a pizza wheel out of a gorgeous piece of desert ironwood, no less. He is one of my best blind turners. He can turn with high speed steel and carbide cutters. Several of the turners got together and bought him the turning shirt. It has his name embroidered on it and "The Turnminator"

I was wondering if he/she were legally blind but could see some shapes etc. Would a powerful flashlight help? If so, olight does have some incredible offerings. I find these flashlights help with bringing out details, and colors.

He was making Christmas gifts. Some of my turners down there have partial sight, but Frank has been totally blind since he was 14 years old. He is actually the manager of curriculum at the blind center. He never has time to turn during my regular hours down there, so he takes a vacation day, and I go pick him up and take him over to the center and we turn until we drop LOL. (Since I'm 80 now, that isn't as long as it used to be!)

Well, I can not think of anything better than getting a hand crafted item from someone that has any challenges of that sort.

He made it for his dad, who is also a wood turner! So he will really be able to appreciate what went into the gift. Especially since you can't get that kit any more.
