One of my latest pens is this blend of non-acrylic and non-wood materials. I've seen some pens made with Alternate Casein that I liked the looks of it, but supplies were out when I placed my order, so I just got the real stuff to try!
I've been wanting to do a two-tone pen for some time now and after seeing the casein/alt casein pictured on this site before, I though it might go well with some of the leftover buffalo horn I had in the shop.
The light streaks on the left side photo look rough but it's just as smooth as the rest of the surfaces. I also stopped at 3200 on the micro mesh (CA finish) to maintain a low-luster sheen instead of going for an ultra-high gloss, to be a bit more reflective the natural materials used.
Thoughts and critiques are warmly welcomed!
