Buckeye burl Vertex

So I was turning this buckeye burl blank the other day, and a chunk fell out. I picked up the chunk and it fit back in perfectly, but I decided to do something different and fill it in with Azurite and Malachite. I thought it turned out good, but I'm wondering if less biased eyes agree. Does it look like a mistake, or does it look ok? Thanks for looking.

I think it looks fine. No one will know if it is a mistake or not. The Vertex is probably my favorite pen.

Thanks for the comments guys. This pen only lasted for a couple of days, before it was purchased at a show, so I knew one other person liked it.

I actually like fills because I think they add some interest and sometimes a little mystery.

Those pieces in buckeye burl are supposed to come out so you can fill them in with something else.:biggrin:
You did good.

Nice color selection and mixing. I think it brightens up the blank. I had to infill a redwood burl a couple weeks ago.
