This pen is one our daughter RoseMarie made while home from school over Christmas break. It is for one of her friends at school.
The blank is some stabilized buckeye burl that looked very promising. She chose to go with a more natural look for this pen and after sanding, used Mylands sanding sealer and then Beall buffed the pen.
It turned out great in my opinion!

Seems to not have any 'eyes' for a burl, but still a nice piece of timber...transitioning from creamy to grayish. Fit-n-finish seems to be really nice too!!

Scott (lucky friend is going to be happy) B

Charlie, please extend to RoseMarie, our Congratulations on a Fine Pen.
Her use of a Buckeye Burl and to mount it on an Atrax was Inspired.
The Atrax complements, the Burl Beautifuly.
Her Fit and Finish is Ideal.
Charlie, looks like you have some serious competition.
Brian.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. RoseMarie really enjoys turning and can turn out a nice finished project.
This pen was for Stephen, a friend at school. She said he was thrilled to get it.
I will post a pic of another gift she finished up while she was home in another thread.

It's gorgeous, has a great fit and finish. Definitely a great gift to give to a special friend. I'm sure Stephen will treasure it. Beautiful work RoseMarie!
