I'm beginning to think that someone has been in my display case!!!

Lin, YOU made a great job of it. Very well done, my friend. :good::good::good:

As cool as the pictures look, it looks better in person. And surprisingly, it's not really very heavy. This one went to my display area in my wife's curio cabinet (I have 1 shelf). In addition to the pen, Lin also sent a really nice Christmas ornament. If you haven't seen it in the PITH Picture thread, you should go check it out. The finial is really over the top.

Thanks Lin!

Nicely done.
Looks out of proportion with the threaded section much larger in diameter than the shaft.

Les

Les it is because I used a 10mm stainless rod for the body and a 12mm peice of stainless ready rod for the cap which only left 1mm clearance which was much less when you take into consideration the depth of the 12mm thread.
I think automotive head bolts are made like this also.

That is cool. Keep it up and give Skip all the credit.
We admire his skills......and now they have even gotten bigger. What a teacher.

But it is the pride of the teacher, when the student does as great a job as you have done Lin. VERY well done.

Nice innovation! Inspiring as well! Super nice pen! I assume you have a metal lathe?
Yes I do and it does make it a lot easier, but the whole point of SkipRat's pictorial that I linked to above was that this could all be done on a wood lathe.
Yes Skip is a master and I am always blown away by his work. Oh and did I mention I have one of his pen's.:biggrin:.

Lin.
P.S. I guess I didn't share the link well here it is.
