I understand. I have one of the Canadian made Sheaffer’s that I picked up in the winter, in part because of that thread. The cap is just under 0.600” thick at the widest.
Nice pen. That does look to be about the same type of material.

Maybe. The bands radiate from the center out so they would be tough to replicate. Would you know if originally they were made as a big block and drawn out to pen sized rod, a little like the way poly clay flowers are made?

Hi Pete, I cut a strip off a slab. When you look at the slab it looks like 1/8" to 3/16" layer after layer laminated together. I'm thinking it was some how poured that way and not glued up.
