Bronze Tortoise Mariano

This is a fun idea, I used a tortoise lucite, the internal hole was lightly textured a bit with a burr, then I reverse painted some highlights with dark brown then sealed it with a metallic bronze acrylic paint before gluing in the tubes...

That's really cool. Not sure how I feel about the kit, but the blank is well suited for it, and looks great.

l think the dark brown and bronze worked out great it's also a great blank kit match up, making it a very eye catching pen, very nice work as all ways.:biggrin:

Now that is thinking! The spot paint then an overall paint job gives the best of both worlds. Great job and congratulations on a fine pen.

Not sure if you liked the bur effect, but I ended up using a 600 grit paper and put it around a rod and sanded the inside of my lucite to get a smooth finish without pits. It's an additional step that I didn't do on the first one and it had those bur marks.

I also sanded the inside to remove the drill marks prior to using the burr to add in marks, it shows up beter than I thought it would, light touches. The Less is More school works here, they create places of interest, like exploring the moon's surface for unique craters... oh, that gives me a new idea!!
