This is one time where a picture (or two) is not worth a thousand words. A written description of what you are looking for would help. It looks like you need a new banjo?

Make and model of the lathe might help.

Dave, I can't tell for sure, but if the Banjo is just cracked, why don't you braze it up and then re-drill or mill out for the tool rest post. If you can't do the brazing, take it to your local welding shop and get them to braze it for you. That way you can still turn while looking for a repalcement. I have brazed old motor blocks, diesel and mud-pump cylinders, and even brazed the supports on a steel bending roll that was designed to roll sheets of 1" thick steel plate into cylinders. That piece is still being used in a pressure vessel shop daily and I brazed it 15 years ago.

Hard to tell from the picture with all of the hose clamps covering the damage; but someone with the proper experience might be able to repair the thing. Cast iron is tricky to weld; but with the proper equipment and techniques, it can be done.

Shoot me an e-mail, I just happen to have one of those banjos from an early model DD lathe. It's just like your 930, but with the steel bed. The banjo is exactly the same fo the cast iron bed style and the stamped steel one as long as the block under the ways is OK.

It's your's for the cost of a donation to the site. Shoot me an e-mail with your shipping info and I will send it out to you. [;)]

PS, I just dropped it into my electroylsis tank to strip off the rust and crud so all you need to do is give it a coat of paint. Keep you handle for the tool post, the one on this banjo is missing.

I think you just need a few more hose clamps and everything should be fine[:D] [:D] [:D] [:D] [:0] [:0]
On second thought, maybe you should take the one from Lee.
