Recently, I replaced the dull blades on my bandsaws with new sharp blades. My older Craftsman 12" bandsaw has a built-in light which was never that bright. I have been using a magnetic LED lamp to supplement visibility while using this saw. While changing the blade, I looked at the old bulb and realized it was a bayonet style, push in/turn base.
With refurbishing some vintage Singer sewing machines, I had been using some bright LED replacement bulbs and thought.....I wonder if these are the same size?
Well, guess what? Both bulbs had the exact same base and same voltage. I tried one of these LED bulbs (containing 80 LEDs), and now I have plenty of bright white light compared to the original incandescent bulb's yellowish glow. This is a great improvement for aging eyes!
