So, I finally got around to putting this thing together, and it definitely shows promise. I got bubbles pretty bad, so I'm not sure whether I need to grind to more of a powder, or coat with CA or something before casting. I kinda like the coarser grind, it has texture.

The brick is from Gainesville's Main Street, laid in 1910, and paved over several times since the 50's, before being taken up in a recent reconstruction. There are still several blocks of brick streets downtown, so the locals should really like these pens, once I get the process down pat.

What did the original cobble stones look like? Did they have a smooth or coarse surface? If smooth you are headed for the Tru-stone look which is done with a pulverized mineral and about 20-25% resin.

The outsides are fairly coarse, except the part that was exposed to vehicles. This is ground brick glued to a tube... not sure I want to try mixing it in resin, lol.
