I'm working on a new design involving brass and clear PR. I've already tried clear PC and it didn't work. I found two products, both clear brass lacquers. One is Staybrite and the other is made by Mohawk.
My first concern is whether or not it will react with the PR. I'm also wondering about durability. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Rick,
I realize it's not pr,and more expensive,but..
I just looked at Alumilite's faq section,
they say their resin is alright to paint,
and actually recommend lacquers.
Clear brass lacquer should be ok,but you could
ask their customer service to be sure.

Also noticed the alumilite faq says their resin
won't start to deform until 425°. 425 seems dicey,
but, maybe a low temp clear PC would work, instead of
the lacquer.Eastwood has a 340° cure clear pc.

Another option with what you are using already would be
an epoxy finish, such as System 3. It's nice stuff.
Just have to keep rotating your work until it sets, and
keep dust from settling in it while wet.

I hope something here helps, looking forward to seeing
more of your brass and pr.:)

I hate all these abrev. What is PC??? I assume PR is poly resin. Also what is brass lacquer??? Do you have a brand name.??
