Brand new pen blanks?

Saw some beautiful spalted pen blanks on ebay listed as brand new. How can a hundred year old half rotted piece of wood be considered brand new?

I think that's because ebay requires the seller to classify an item as either new or used. Since these are not "used" pen blanks, they must be new. You find the same description of rocks and minerals where I purchased a very nice piece of petrified wood that was brand new.

It was just meant for a laugh. The pen blanks are very nice, spalted sugar maple. Will have to post a picture later.
