I have a few bowls in progress for an upcoming market.... four are spalted hackberry and range from 7 3/4 to 9 3/4 in diameter... they're finished with a sanding sealer under several coats of satin wipe on poly... these are a little shiny because the poly is wet. The other three bowls are Walnut, Spalted Magnolia and Mimosa.... the little walnut bowl is 7 1/4" dia by 3 inches high, the spalted magnolia is 8" b 2"... not totally sure this is magnolia, but reasonaly sure from the looks of the wood... I had a stack that I was turning from just outside the door of my shop and think I moved a couple of logs around to the end to clear the doorway... at any rate, my story and sticking to it.... the mimosa bowls ia for a couple who we are close with and gave me the wood from their mimosa tree that died... this is from the stump and is actually a crotch type piece of wood... the bowl is 10" diameter and 3 1/2inches high.
