Great tip, but not worth the drive from here. Besides, what I want is the bowling ball that Bill Murray uses in the movie "Kingpin". Now that is a bowling ball.

Too far for me, too. But as a newbie, I'd be interetsed in some more info on how to make pens from such material. Anything here on the boards, or any other insite you can provide? thanks

Pens of color sells precut blanks in 3/4 or 1 inch.

Lee Valley Tools has round blanks in 4 or 5 colours. Two of them will make 3 pens, as they are quite long.

I haven't turned bowling ball blanks before. It might not be too far for me to drive, if you wanna share 'em. I have no use or space for 60 bowling balls, but I'd take a few if you want the rest. But first I'd need to know how to cut them into blanks. Now that I think of it, I can probably find that info somewhere in the archives, huh?
