I know this hasn't nothing to do with pen turning,,just finished 2 bottle stoppers,,one made with cherry the other rock hard maple,,both is finished with locktite 495,,the maple one has a 3/8 insert,,,,

Nice job on those stoppers.

Nothing wrong with showing off projects like that, but they really should be posted in the Other Things We Make forum. Don't worry though, no one's going to revoke your IAP membership card. :wink:

I have a question. I've been looking at the bullet bottle stoppers, but they are not stainless steel. How well do the Tungsten coatings hold up to the acidity of the wine? I've had chrome stoppers pit and peel after only a few months of use.

actually I don't know,,i sell these and so far I haven't had any to come back,,
