I saw this soon as I logged on as the newest photo uploaded, and my first thought was also owwwwy. Don't get me wrong, as it's very cool indeed, but perhaps the part closes to the stopper should be smooth to combine the crazy technique and functionality.

The beautiful work on top should be the focus of the piece. I didn't realize that the side embellishment was Rose work. Looks almost filed or routered to me. Plain is better IMHO. But beautiful work.
