Any ideas on how to best finish the bottom?

I use a live center over the drilled hole and a drive spur on the headstock to shape the handles. I cut a little bridge on the headstock side but have a hard time getting a good finish on the bottom. What do you all do? Sand by hand and use a poly finish?View attachment 220032

The one I built has the same "hand made" look. Saw where they sell a cap with a piece for a lanyard for about $6-$7, which is what I paid for the kits. Figured I could come up with something cheaper.

THEN, I read your post and wondered if a bottle cap could be fit/epoxied onto the end to finish it off?

I use the same chuck at the buffing wheels. I am careful not to touch the metal to the wheels.

Good luck and nice work
