I want to turn some bookmarks and such. I have everything I need except a way to hold the wood to the mandrel without buying 1" x 36 yards of lathe tape for $20 + . Anybody have a simple way to hold a small piece of wood/acrylic to a small mandrel (3/4" maybe) strong enough to turn it and then easy enough to get it off without breaking it. Ideas?

Ive made quite a few bookmarks. I'll look for some photos in awhile to show you. I have a mandrel that came with the treen set up. I just ca the acrylic to that and then knock it off with a hammer. Light tap usually does the trick.

I use the same set up for doing purse hangers.

double sided carpet tape in Home Depot or any home center. Just don't get the outdoor stuff, that is murder to get off. :)

James, I have the same "treen" mandrel. CA would sure be the easiest. John, I wasn't sure carpet tape would be strong enough. I already have some of that. Thanks all.
