A friend wanted a pen for his daughter's boyfriend for Christmas. The boyfriend is Irish, so I thought the bog oak was an appropriate choice for him. Came out better than my last attempt at bog oak! However, because of the size of the blanks, I wound up drilling through the side of one half while prepping them, that's why the grain doesn't match.

Jim, the first thing I was going to ask you is how you got IBO blanks that big, but you answered it. You didn't. [}:)] I'm still trying to decide what to make first. [:I] I don't think he'll mind the grain not matching... or even notice. You did a nice job on the pen! I like![^]
