This blank is from George (Robutacion) - blue dwarf banksia. The pen kit is a Virage Chrome.
I used a modified "Blowouts...???" method to turn this pen.
I used a disc sander instead of an angle grinder to bring the blank to "almost the final dimension" before I turned it on the lathe.
To prevent blow out at the final stage of turning, do use sharp tools and apply the blank CA as often as required.
As usual, wet sanded to 800 grit. Applied 2 coats of thin CA, then 5 or 6 coats of medium CA. Wet sanded again to 800 grit. Finished with Novus 3, 2, and 1.
