A little bit of weekend work: a semi transparent fountain pen made from "denim mist" acrylic from beartooth. I've never used his acrylic before, and I quite like it. I fabricated the metal components from 304 stainless steel, which I've found much more rewarding than the nickel silver I previously have used in my pens. This is a reasonably short pen, but it is just long enough to fit a standard size converter in. I'm super happy with how it turned out!

Very beautiful pen, John !! . Thanks for posting and including details.

Your work is a major inspiration to me ... and ... I am certain ... to many others !!!

I would like to get some of that blank material.

John, another lovely pen! The band on the cap, it is glued into the blank and then turned or is it slipped over the end of the cap into a groove?

Another beautiful pen. What is your method for sanding and polishing the body interior. I'm working on a clear tube and polishing the inside is difficult.

For the demonstrator ID polishing check out the following video:

After wet sanding I use a cotton gun cleaning mop with polishing rouge for the final finish. I chuck it in the lathe on a short cleaning rod. They come in multiple calibers (diameters).

Hi Danny
Thanks for the link that was very interesting. I like the mop idea. I used a couple felt rotary tool polishing cylinders but the mops will be better. Thanks for sharing

Somehow I didn't get notified of all these new responses.

In regards to your question, the Edison video posted by another member is basically the way I, and most everyone else, does it.
